A weekend away starts with packing a bag, so let it be the right bag. Eddie Harrops luxurious leather travel bags are perfect for any adventure, and any hotel. Loved by Vogue, Kelly Hoppen, Gwyneth Paltrow - and us! There is a travelista lurking in all of us, so if you’re still saving up for the bag, indulge in her fringed passport holder, a little square of leather loveliness - which also make wonderful gifts. Here are Eddie’s suggestions for a little bit of London luxe.

For fashion, it has to be Baar and Bass on the Kings Road. The mix of labels is amazing and curated by chic and very lovely Maddie Chesterton. They also have a summer shop in St Tropez, but hey, the Kings Road is nearer. It’s summer all year round at Salt Resort Wear on Walton Street, which stocks the coolest mix of labels. Winter Escape sorted: so don’t panic if you’ve just booked the flight but the stores are stocking tinsel and crackers.

When it comes to fine dining in London, I do like a bit of celeb spotting, and Casa Cruz in Notting Hill is sleek and stylish, and draws them in. I always order a mix of starters when I go there. They have also just opened a sister restaurant, Isabel in Mayfair. Magpie in Hedden Street is another favourite of mine, it was set up by James Ramsden who opened the excellent Pidgin in Dalston.

If you fancy something outdoors, the best secret garden in London is at Fulham Palace, which boasts 13 acres of botanical garden, including a restore Walled Garden, all in the heart of London. The walled garden has old Victorian greenhouses and fruit trees. Head for coffee in Fulham Palace itself afterwards. It really does feel like the countryside came to town.
