It also opens up into a wide harbour area so you have lots of space to hone your skills. Next enjoy a wander around this mid regeneration suburb with a host of great local pubs nearby for that well-deserved post-paddle tipple. Brentford offers a relaxed day out, just right for beginners.
4. Henley-on-Thames
Henley-on-Thames offers a tranquil cruise on your SUP. It’s only a 45 minute drive or 1 hour train from London and is considered one of the prettiest towns along the banks of the Thames. Gorgeous countryside views accompany those of the 13th century market town famed for its rowing and as a filming location for Midsummer Murders. Maybe take a picnic to enjoy on the banks of the river mid paddle. Soak in the beauty of the English countryside at this great paddleboarding spot.
5. Leigh-on-Sea
Calm, shallow waters await you at Leigh-on-Sea so you can build up your paddleboarding skills. This charming coastal town is a short train ride from London.
