WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?

This walk provides a lot of hidden history, the stuff you would normally just miss, even if you know the area well. The game takes place around the hidden streets of Blackfriars - and there are a lot of them.

Follow the clues sent through to your phone to solve a mystery. Each clue you manage to solve, will lead you onto the next. If you get really stuck, you can ask for the odd hint.  It's challenging and best done with a mate or two - four is the ideal number. This challenge takes a couple of hours to complete as you figure out the answer to the riddles and solve the whodunnit.  There will be bonus ‘facts’ at each stop. There is history at every stop in this game.

So are you ready to solve ‘The Case of Colombia’s Finest’ and find out what really is happening in Jim Robusta’s coffee company? Scavenger’s get ready, steady…GO!

Discover London's Street Art by Mini Cooper

Discover the evolution from graffiti to art by Classic Mini Cooper. For 3 people. WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT? Is it possible? Did street art just get cooler? Well, no, but the tour did.  A classic Mini Cooper is art on four wheels, and these cars come with names.  Choose from Betty, Lulu, Rosie, and Lulu for a private tour of London’s street art. Your guide and driver will pick you up from your chosen location, and then it’s marker pens and spray cans at the ready, as you discover the big city in a small car. WHAT HAPPENS IN THIS EXPERIENCE? This two-hour jaunt takes you on a tour of central and East London to discover the evolution of graffiti to art.  There will be a stop and visit to the Leake Street Graffiti Tunnel.  This is one of the few places in London where graffiti is legal.  The art changes regularly, and it’s the longest graffiti gallery in the capital. The creations can last for months, days, or just a couple of hours. You will be able to try your hand at tagging with marker pens and spray cans—maybe give it some thought before you go.  It’s not easy. Even the most prolific street artist of all time, Banksy, has lost the majority of his work over the capital to development.  In fact, there are many graffiti artists who think that Leake Street has become ‘gentrified.’ Don’t worry, there are many beautiful murals to see, and your guide is an expert in the field. Expect a bit of waving as you drive along… there is something about a Mini that attracts as much attention as a mural.   THE ALL IMPORTANT DETAILS You can get 3 people in a mini. The tour happens within Zone 1 and you can decide your pick up point. The experience happens at a time and date suitable to you, but please allow at least 3 weeks to book your experience or contact us with the date you had in mind. You can read more about our Mini Cooper experiences here. HOW DOES IT WORK? All you have to do is pay for the gift experience you wish to purchase. Film Lovers, Art Deco, Independent Cinema Experience for Two

Go where cinema first began. Velvet chairs, gold coat hooks, and a working Compton cinema organ.  WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT? Right in the heart of London, over 120 years ago, the Lumière Brothers unveiled their Cinematographe machine, kickstarting the film industry; This was the first cinema to open its doors to the paying public, charging 54 people a shilling each to watch the 40 second clip. Kintsugi Workshop

A hands-on workshop where you'll be guided step by step on how to repair broken china using golden resin...   WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT? Learn how to mend once loved china and earthenware in this mindful introduction to the Kintsugi method. The visible repairs are seen as part of the history of an object, highlighting the cracks and symbolising fragility, strength and beauty. This golden repair is called Kintsugi.   WHAT HAPPENS IN THIS WORKSHOP?   The idea of this workshop is to repair a loved item, joining together the fractures using the Japanese Kintsugi method - applying the resin glue to the broken sections and making it whole once more. The imperfections aren’t to be hidden but embraced! The Kintsugi method celebrates the beauty of the scars in an object and recognises that the history should be shown and not hidden. Choose your broken porcelain (vase, bowl, plate or cup), and be taken by our resident Indytute expert, step by step through the technique of mending each section piece by piece. This is very much a thoughtful and methodical process….not to be rushed, where each piece is applied and repaired carefully. THE ALL IMPORTANT DETAILS The Indytute will provide all the kit needed for this workshop: You can bring your own china but we can't guarantee it'll be finished on time as the process needs to be done with patience.
