We sent one of our favourite colourful Instagrammers and Bloggers, Becca to try out one of our new experiences, the "Sumptuous Soho Food Tour". Here's what she had to say about the day.

After my previous adventures with The Indytute, I was so excited to join them for a feast in the form of a Sumptuous Soho Food Tour in London.

Soho Tour

Being a flexitarian, I did have some reservations on whether I’d be catered to, but wow did they surprise me! There were so many vegetarian options for me, with equally delectable meat options for my carnivore husband.

After popping on an early train from Folkestone to London, we arrived at our designated meeting point in Leicester Square to find Dave awaiting our arrival with his own ‘Chubby Fellow’ sign (Dave is the tour provider!). After a brief introduction of the history of Soho and its name, we launched the tour with a gin basil smash - homemade by Dave himself. With some liquid courage consumed, we were off to our first venue to devour some soup dumplings. After searching Shanghai and Taipei for some veggie soup dumplings a couple years prior, and being thoroughly disappointed with the results, I had high hopes that my soup dumpling dreams were going to come true. And, guess what? They did!

After such a brilliant start to the tour with soup dumplings success, we started to weave the streets to consume lamb, veggie and custard bao buns; roti canai; pig’s head on toast (for Lewis obviously) and burrata on toast; choux buns; and cocktails aplenty. It’s safe to say we were absolutely stuffed and left London feeling very happy and full.

If you’re considering a gift for a loved one, and want an experience for that person that has everything - then look no further. I’m already hatching plans to book more of The Indytute’s food tours for several hard-to-buy-for family members. You can follow along Becca's adventures by visiting her blog or Instagram!
