1. Workout. Ministry Does Fitness.

Just when you thought there were a lot of workout options in London, one of the biggest nightclub institutions opens a fitness studio in their old boozy storage vault! Doing what they do best, Ministry of Sound have created a fitness studio (Ministry Does Fitness) in SE London with the best lighting, sound system and tunes around as well as kick ass instructors to put you through your paces in a circuit training class. Not only that, but the studio regularly takes over the nightclub next door with yoga classes, boxing classes & barre classes to create a workout experience you won’t forget.

2. Lunch on the go. Poke

My new lunch addiction is Poke, specifically, Island Poke based in Soho and in the city. Poke is a classic Hawaiian dish of cubed, marinated fish. Traditionally the local fisherman would haul in their catch, dice it up, season it and eat on the spot. he ‘Poké Bowl’ is a modern approach to this concept and normally includes a base of rice or slaw topped with seaweeds, fruit salsas, pickles and garnishes. Not only is it delicious and healthy – it has to be said that it probably the most instagrammable lunch option in London right now! The Broadgate Circle branch staff are guaranteed to make your day too – the friendliest team on the planet!

 3. Juice bar Press.

Another hidden gem in Soho. Tucked away on Denman Street, you’ll find this healthy hangout with every cold-pressed juice flavour you could dream of. From Charcoal Lemonade for kicking a hangover in the face to a Greenhouse 5 with all the greens and bit of spice to get your five a day, this is your hydration station and more. I have recently developed a small addition to the shots! Replace your morning coffee with an Immunity shot (Orange, Lemon, Ginger, Cayenne, Garlic, Oregano). You will not know what’s hit you.

4. Health(ier) cocktails. Scout London.

Yes, it can be done… drinking better that is. Places to drink more mindfully is something we feature regularly on DOSE. Lower the sugar, increase the quality of ingredients and drink in moderation. Done. I was in heaven after discovering this bar. With a focus on minimal waste to ensure its conscious sustainable operation, Scouts menu changes daily adapting to seasonal produce from foragers, farmers and growers alike. From foraged ingredients to house ferments to a zero waste food offering.  Try the Pineapple Weed & Green Pea… my favourite.

5. Breakfast. The Good Yard.

On the go, or not, this place serves the best breakfast in town and it’s served all day! Sometimes you want breakfast food at 2pm, especially after a workout. Eggs any way, salmon, avocado, halloumi, the works… it has it all. The food quality is so good that I will walk out of my way to eat here. Lastly, you can’t leave without a coffee – it’s so worth the trip.
