WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?

Called after the world-famous Lion Rock in the Cheddar Gorge, this teashop has been trading since 1908, and the scones have just got better and better. In fact, this is a multi-award-winning teashop, and there aren't many of those to the pound.

Think wood burners and open fires in the winter, garden in the summer. There are seven different rooms, each with a different theme, but all quintessentially inspired by the English country cottage. This really is the kind of tea room that you long to find when you embark on a day out

This is a vegan tea, and really every bite is a testament to vegan baking. The sandwiches (triangles - no crusts) are exactly what you should expect from this picturesque tea room. Obviously there's cucumber but also vegan cheese and chutney and guacamole. Then there are the hot homemade scones complete with jam and plant-based cream. All the cakes and pastries are baked to vegan perfection. Washed down with a choice of teas - loose leaf in a pot - and a glass of Prosecco.

We had a great check in and our room was fantastic, After noon tea was very scrumptious and the cocktail was very nice, they even had decaf tea ,they made my sandwiches to my liking as i don’t eat some things. The cooked breakfast the next day was good but the fried eggs were hard as put into a dish with a lid ,the pastries were very nice and the rest of the breakfast good value for the money.
