"A blissful reminder of the joy of live professional performance... The idea of taking theatre into gardens feels like a grassroots revolution."
The Telegraph

WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?

Will Shakespeare is stuck for words. It’s 1605 and ‘The Bard’ is in lockdown due to a nasty bout of the plague. His parchment is blank. He needs an audience to rekindle his creativity, but the theatres are closed. Can you help? Have you a yard in which he could perform his greatest hits - while maintaining a suitable and safe distance?

TELL ME MORE

If you can’t go to the show then let the show come to you. There are twenty one bards ready and waiting to come to your back garden/courtyard or roof garden and perform a 45 minute one man/woman show just for you and your close friends and family. This is truly grassroots theatre.

The play has been written by the artistic director of ‘Bard in the Yard’ Victoria Baumgartner. It is a blend of Shakespeare, dry humour and history. A project in response to a theatre industry in crisis. Live theatre is a highlight of London life. The show must go on!  Will needs you.

Bring a Bard to your yard.
