Peek into dazzling palace rooms, then toast like royalty with tea and treats. For Two people.
WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?
Buckingham Palace State Rooms, where the monarch and members of the Royal Family receive and entertain their guests. These rooms are only open to the public during the summer months, when the Palace isn't hosting state visits. There are 19 magnificent rooms to explore.
The rooms are a twinkling delight. Of course they are grand, they are filled with treasures from the Royal Collections. Paintings by Rembrandt and Rubens, sculptures by Canova and Sèvres porcelain. You wouldn't expect anything less.
You may think you have seen these rooms many times on television, but nothing prepares you for seeing them in person. These rooms are the highlights of Buckingham Palace, it's no wonder Presidents vie to visit.
TELL ME MORE
Feeling like tea? Of course you are. Walk along the Mall to the Royal Horseguards Hotel, where Afternoon Tea awaits. The Duchess of Bedford was behind this invention, the gap between lunch and dinner proving too much of a wait. A pot of tea and a few fancies quickly turned into a social occasion, and that is exactly what you will be having after your tour of the gallery.
Any guest you bring will be thrilled with this tea. The sandwiches, scones and cakes are served in The Lounge, and alongside the various teas or coffee, a glass of sparkling wine will form part of the afternoon treats.
Raise a glass to the King, and also The Duchess of Bedford, because doesn't everyone find the gap between lunch and dinner just a bit of a stretch?
