Tour Buckingham Palace & enjoy lunch at Royal Horseguards Hotel.
WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?
These rooms are certainly grand. All 19 of them. The chandeliers twinkle with opulence, but they are only half the story. The walls are packed with treasures from the Royal Collection. Paintings by Rembrandt and Rubens, sculptures by Canova and Sèvres porcelain, but you wouldn't expect anything less.
Buckingham Palace State Rooms are where the monarch and members of the Royal Family receive and entertain their guests. These rooms are only open to the public during the summer months, when the Palace isn't hosting state visits. You may think you have seen these rooms many times on television, but nothing prepares you for seeing them in real life. These rooms are certainly decorated to create an impression. From the Ballroom to the Throne Room expect to be dazzled. The only thing missing are the Corgis.
TELL ME MORE
Walk down The Mall to the Royal Horseguards Hotel, where lunch will be served. As the name suggests, this is also an iconic venue, once the home of National Liberal Club and the home of the first chief of MI6. One Twenty One Two is the name of the restaurant, inspired by the building's former neighbour, Scotland Yard, and is derived from the world-famous phone number, Whitehall 1212.
There are two courses to choose from, and there is a carefully curated menu. The space is traditional, warm and welcoming, just the spot for lunch, giving you space to talk about all things Royal. A walk through history.
