Railway arches are the new chic. Award winning distillery 58 And CO have positioned their twinkling gin school under one such arch in Haggerston. Industrial architecture meets the glory of copper stills. The distillery founder is also rather glorious. A woman who set out to become a shoemaker but ended up as an expert Gin distiller. Carmen, aka ‘Cocktail Carmen’ is a regular on BBC’s ‘Saturday Kitchen’ as their spirits expert. She has put sustainability at the forefront of the brand. Solar panels power the stills, and their bottle labels are made from discarded grape skins, and that’s just for starters.
In this class you learn how to create your own, individual, one-of-a kind, gin. It can’t be bought, or replicated by anyone other than you, and at the end of the experience you will walk away with a bottle of your very own gin, made to your personal recipe.
This is a 3 hour immersive experience, not only will you be crafting and distilling your own gin, but you will also be learning about the dark history of the gindustry while indulging in 58 And CO's signature spirits, and enjoying cocktails and charcuterie.
One copper still be shared between 2 people. There are a wide range of botanicals to choose from, and the distillery experts will be on hand to help build a bespoke flavour profile.
Once your distillation is complete, the gin will be bottled for you, then you complete the process with the all important wax and seal and add your own personal message.
The last drink of the day, is of course made from your own gin, and you can choose the perfect mixer.
A party bag filled with treats will be waiting for you to take home, with of course , your very own 700ml bottle of gin.

Over 18's only! This gin-making experience is in Hackney (the nearest tube is Haggerston on the East London Line or a short bus trip from Liverpool Street Station). The masterclass is 3 hours long and runs most Saturday afternoons at 2pm.
