WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?

Ok, you aren’t going to be asked to do the splits and a handstand during the first session, so no need to panic, but this is a roller skate class with a difference. Get to grips with learning the skate basics, before progressing to cool tricks that concentrate on getting you fit. If you think roller skating is child’s play, get ready to work the core.

Our Learn to Skate classes are designed by Tinuke’s and Obie who are performing artists and professional instructors who have traveled the world sharing the disco fever, through friendship, love, fitness and fun! Tinuke is trained under Starlight Express the musical and Obie under Marawa The Amazing. Both these ladies can hula and skate simultaneously! But you can work your way up to that.

WHAT WILL I BE LEARNING?

This experience is suitable for beginners and is guaranteed to get the heart racing while putting a smile on your face (and that’s when you just look at the skates). Expect four wheels, we like retro (actually roller skating was invented in 1760, so very retro).

THE ALL IMPORTANT DETAILS

Skate and knee pad hire is included. The class is every Thursday at 7-8pm in Seven Sisters. Make a night of it and join the roller disco afterwards in the same venue, RollerNation for £5 on the night.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
