WHAT'S THIS POTTERY CLASS ALL ABOUT?
If you have become addicted to the ‘Great Pottery Thrown Down’ this is your chance to learn how to spin the wheel with a 3 hour taster session with experienced potter Kate Brigden.
Kate works from her garden workshop in Sussex, and this is where you will be going to learn the technique of ‘centering’ and the zen of wheel throwing.
This is a very personal class - one-to-one - which means you will be on an intensive learning curve. It’s not easy, and like any new skill takes time, but by closely following Kate’s instructions and expertise you will be able to make and keep up to four finished pieces - which is enough to make anyone cry. That’s pottery for you. Unexpectedly emotional, and rather thrilling.
They can’t be taken home straight away, as Kate will fire them for you, and get them sent to you in about 2-3 weeks. Wear old clothes. Clay is clay so expect to get a bit messy.

This was my first time and I absolutely loved it. We learnt how to throw and slab build. All very friendly and relaxed and the time flew by. I would recommend this to anyone.
This class was SO much fun! I’ve done pottery before so I already had a good idea that I would enjoy it, but even my partner who never does stuff like this had so much fun. Kate is so kind and funny, we learned a lot and were laughing with her the whole time!

We (me and my 19 year old daughter) I had such an enjoyable time with Kate. I can't say that I am a natural born potter but, with Kates patient help and guidance, I managed to knock out producing some respectable pieces of work/art/pottery. My daughter took to it straight away. Really fun and well worth it. We would strongly recommend it. We had a great time and great value.
