Discover why no other country in the world does a pub like we do in this brilliant walking tour.

WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?

Who doesn’t love a pie and a pint and as for peculiar pubs, London has them in spades. Quintessentially British. On this walk you will be discovering why no other country in the world does a pub like we do. Explore the history of the pub, and try out a few tasty treats along the way. The tour starts with a beer and ends with a pie and a pint.

TELL ME MORE

The route weaves through the streets of Clerkenwell and Farringdon. Where could you find the last beer before a Newgate execution? Why are ghosts and spirits kept at bay in one particular (and very cosy) bar.  Discover the reason why some pubs are hidden away in certain parts of London.

Without our traditional pints we probably wouldn’t have survived, as back in the day Londoner’s were drinking it in place of water, and don’t let’s get started on the joys of a pie. When an oyster was as cheap as a chip, the Victorians were stuffing them under crusts, with a drop of stout to improve the gravy. Yes, we understand a pie. The crust is just a vehicle for holding in deliciousness.

THE ALL IMPORTANT DETAILS

The tour heads off on a Tuesday evening at 6.30pm, and there will be a maximum of ten people in your group. The totter lasts for 2.5 hours, so think of your pie as supper, and a well deserved treat. Also consider the happy hours around the water cooler while you hold your audience rapt, with a million and one pieces of trivia about the great, and very peculiar British pub.  A pint of beer and a pie is also included.
