Well, for a start, it’s very quiet. This small, elegant river boat is electric and designed not to rattle you or the wildlife as you take the river route that Lewis Carroll and Alice Liddell frequented when he wrote ‘Alice in Wonderland’.
Travel past quaint Osney Island, with its allotments and gardens, ancient Port Meadow and Godstow, taking in stunning views of Christ Church meadows, the university boathouses, and the regatta course. This is Oxford at its picturesque best, seen from the river, which puts a completely different focus on its famous landmarks. It’s leisurely, intimate (no more than 12 passengers per cruise), and includes a short stop-off at a historic riverside pub.

The person guiding us was very good at his job and even threw in some comical chat to go with it. The picnic was delicious, had some potato salad, a quiche, finger sandwiches and two scones each with jam and cream. There was also Elderflower presse added in. The scenario was great and the ride very peaceful. Had a stop off at a lovely country pub for a quick drink before heading back. 3 hours in all which...
We booked the afternoon picnic cruise. The boat was clean and tidy. It was electric so good for the environment as well. The skipper 'Will' was very knowledgeable and very pleasant. The cruise last three hours and the picnic provided was lovely. The food had obviously been prepared just before the ship left as it was very fresh. A great afternoon to relax and cruise up the river
Chris was our captain for the trip he was a delight. Very knowledgeable of history in the area. He was a witty funny chap. The picnic was plentiful and delicious. The staff also at the Folly were welcoming and helpful. An amazing few hours spent in good company. Highly recommended.
We loved the picnic cruise. The boats don't take many people so we felt thoroughly spoilt. It was so different to going on just another tourist trip up the Thames. The hamper of food and elderflower drink were very tasty and excellent quality. Henry was an informative and friendly skipper.
First time to Oxford and this was a wonderful way to explore the waterfront. The picnic basket fir lunch was absolutely fabulous and our captain was wonderful. Would absolutely recommend.
My favorite activity in Oxford. Take a picnic cruise with these people. Professional staff and great scenery. Our boat driver was very knowledgeable.
