Whip up your own show-stopping chocolate torte, master truffle-making, and top it all off with a sparkling Champagne afternoon tea.
WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?
This is a morning of tortes and chocolate with award-winning patissier Eric Lanlard. Not only will you be creating but also consuming- there’s an indulgent afternoon tea at the end of the class. You will be based in the 'laboratory', or as it is known in-house, 'Destination Delicious'. Here, surrounded by KitchenAids and shiny worktops, your introduction to chocolate begins.
First off, you will be dazzled with Eric's signature Valrhona chocolate and raspberry torte, and indeed making your own. While your torte sets in the chillers, there will be time to knock up some hazelnut truffles, followed by chocolate decorations to add a bit of fantasy to your torte. You can take home your creation - boxes will be provided, as well as a Cake Boy apron to remind you of the experience.
TELL ME MORE
Ah yes, the tea. There will only be ten of you in the class, and you can all discuss chocolate over in the Cake Boy seating area, which is colourful, contemporary and glamorous, as befits your tea.
The Champagne afternoon tea features filled petit pains, dainty pastries, French macarons, fruit tarts, and gourmet shots, all made by Cake Boy himself. This really is a sweet treat. It's French afternoon tea with a witty and talented French patissier. This is a chef who honed his exceptional skills with the Roux brothers. He really does make exceptionally good cakes.
