WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT? 


There was a time when Londoners thought it would never get built, but after a few false starts it did, and  Battersea Power Station has become London’s newest cool shopping and eating destination.

In 2014 the famous chimneys were dismantled and rebuilt to the precise specifications of the original. You would never have thought they could do it, let alone incorporate a lift into the north-west chimney. It is an epic experience.

The lift takes you up and up and up . A whole 109 metres up with 360 degree views over the London skyline. Your journey starts in the Turbine Hall, where you can look at the original records and learn about the history of the power station. As you board the lift, constellations of light guide your ascent to the viewing platform, where you and an adventurous pigeon  can soak up the sights. Don’t worry, you won’t be getting out. There is glass between you, the sky and the pigeon.

Come down from the dizzying heights and head out towards The Mall where a Traditional afternoon tea is on the menu at The Royal Horseguards Hotel. It’s just the place to relax. The overall vibe is one of calm with a smattering of Victorian grandeur.Just the setting for a proper tea. Do you spread your cream the  Devonshire way or will you go Cornish? Decisions, decisions. Think about it over the sandwiches.
