Upcap, extract and jar you own honey fresh from the hive in this harvesting workshop.
WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?
You will be working with an expert honey harvester (yes, it is a job) and be guided through the process of packing a jar of raw honey fresh from the hive.
This workshop is run by Hiver, the Bermondsey beer experts, who work with local beekeepers to produce the honey that goes into their beers. Throughout the class you will be learning about the bees, honey and all the hive bi-products and beeswax, while sampling some delicious honey beer.
In Hiver’s custom- built tasting room, you will spend 1.20 minutes learning how honey gets from hive to jar, and getting a bit sticky in the process. You’ll start by uncapping honey frames before using a manual centrifugal extractor, before filtering and harvesting a small jar of honey to take home.
Bee prepared to get hands on. If you love the sweet stuff this mini honey harvest will provide an in depth look into bee world, and when it’s over grab yourself some street food from the famous Maltby Market and debrief over a beer in the Hiver taproom.
