WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?
Hiver beer is renowned in the East End. Bermondsey is where you can usually locate the community - bees included. Now you can check out both bees and beer in a countryside location, and we aren’t talking any old field. You will be hosted in one of England’s leading vineyards.
Visit the Albourne Estate, a winery, set deep in the Sussex countryside, overlooking the South Downs. These are fabulous estates where any bee would feel nurtured and more than thrilled to call the place home.
Your day is tailored around beekeeping and beer. You will be introduced to the hives that work hard to produce the honey used in Hiver beers, and learn about the basics of beekeeping. Then relax over a tutored beer and food matching service, hosted by one of the Hiver experts.
This experience is available from April - September, and you need to book early as the season tends to sell out very speedily. Don’t come in strappy sandals. Socks and closed toe shoes are the order of the day. As for sartorial style, a bee suit will be provided on arrival.
When the bee experience is over, you can walk around the vineyard and make the most of the day out. This estate has a lot to offer, so check out their website before you visit.
Food, beer and bees in a bucolic setting. BEE-autiful.

Our bee keeper gave us careful safety advice and made sure we were gowned up to visit the hives..all equipment was provided. She was incredibly knowledgeable and a great communicator. We learned a lot and felt safe at all times. The beer and honey tasting afterwards was equally...
An excellent afternoon at Albourne Estate. Interesting, informative and entertaining for both the bees part and the honey beer tasting part. Also a beautiful location. Had a platters lunch in the wine tasting room at the vineyard before and that was very good.
