WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?
A scarf. Your words. A piece of leather. Something entirely your own.

Join makers Rowan Ceridwen Sharp and Hannah Smith for an intimate three-hour workshop combining hand stitching, beautiful scarves and traditional leatherwork. You’ll personalise a scarf with words that mean something to you, before choosing your leather project: create a wearable leather cuff or make a foulard handle that transforms your scarf into a bag or carrying accessory.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THIS WORKSHOP?
Start by choosing the words you want to carry with you. It could be your initials, a name, a date, a favourite phrase or something with a meaning known only to you.

Textile and millinery expert Hannah Smith will then guide you through hand-stitching your chosen words into your scarf. With more than 25 years’ experience, Hannah has worked with leading milliners including Stephen Jones and Noel Stewart, with her work appearing in projects for Chanel, Tom Ford, John Galliano and Thom Browne, as well as on the likes of Madonna, Kylie Minogue and Britney Spears.

Then it’s over to leather.

Under the guidance of award-winning accessories designer and Offland founder Rowan Ceridwen Sharp, you’ll choose between making your own leather cuff or creating a leather foulard handle for your scarf.

Opt for the cuff and you’ll make a simple, wearable piece of leathercraft to take home. Choose the foulard handle and you’ll create a beautifully clever accessory that lets you loop, knot and transform your scarf into a bag, then use it again with scarves already in your wardrobe.

Rowan trained at Cordwainers, was named Jimmy Choo Accessories Designer of the Year and has worked across fashion, interiors and specialist leatherwork, with her work featured in publications including Vogue and Wallpaper*.

THE ALL IMPORTANT DETAILS

• This three-hour workshop takes place at Mason & Fifth, Westbourne Park and is for one person.
• No previous sewing or leatherworking experience is needed and all the materials you'll need are included.
• During the leatherworking part of the workshop, you'll choose to make either a leather cuff or a foulard handle to use with your scarf.
• You're welcome to arrive early and settle in with a coffee or breakfast, or stay afterwards and head to nearby Canal for lunch.
• Any food and drinks purchased at the venue are separate and aren't included in the workshop price.
• Come with your words. Leave with something worth keeping.
