Whether you’re a complete beginner, or have some printmaking experience, this is an ideal workshop for exploration and learning, the techniques of drypoint.
WHAT’S THIS ALL ABOUT?
Drypoint – Learn the art of drypoint printmaking, an intaglio technique where a design is engraved into a material. The Bristol Print Collective run these classes from their own studios, which will be an added bonus, as you can enjoy their own work which will definitely fire and inspire.
Using their expertise to guide you through the process, from preparing a plate to pulling your own prints. They will show you how to create intricate images using simple materials that you can easily replicate at home. Leave with a solid understanding of the process and the confidence to carry on practising on your own.
TELL ME MORE
The workshops are run by The Bristol Print Collective, whose members are artists brought together with a love for all things ink. It was founded by Jemma Gunning and Victoria Willmott, who met while studying printmaking at Bristol University. They discovered a shared interest – print workshops that can explore the medium without the need for bulky equipment, so classes can be enjoyed outside a formal studio setup. Other print artists have since joined the group, bringing their joy and passion to printmaking.
