WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?
Well, you will certainly get good views from the top of Uphill Quarry. There are unmissable scenic wonders of the nature reserve below and an excellent 12th-century chapel at the top. On the way down, you will be too busy concentrating on the rock face to care much about either.
This experience is both challenging and fun. The instructors are all very experienced and highly qualified, ready to help you on the outdoor adventure.

This activity runs from March through to October. The experience lasts for about 3.5 hours.
This includes the safety briefing, kitting up and dekitting, and a practice abseil before you head for the top of the quarry. There is a maximum group size of six, and you will be well looked after.
This is literally life on the edge, this is for people that love an adrenaline rush or a personal challenge. The descent is controlled — and no previous experience is required.

Rob was a great instructor and soon put Shirl’s fears to rest and then she was over the edge and on her way down a 45ft shear face, twice, brilliantly done. I finished off the day doing The Big One at 150ft which was awesome.

He was calm, explained things clearly, (sorry, I've forgotten the 'travel facts' about the actual quarry) and was patient. Excellent experience yesterday morning doing “The Big One” Abseiling at Uphill Quarry. First time abseiling for myself and my partner and Rob made us feel very at ease straight away. Went abseiling at Uphill Quarry, watched over by my daughters. More than 40 years since my last time abseiling with the scouts and probably more than 40 metres higher. Rob was the perfect guide, very professional and friendly, he spent time describing the natural environment as well as all necessary safety requirements. He was at all times encouraging and supportive. This experience really is well worth achieving whatever your reasons for trying it.
