WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?

This is tea with a Japanese twist, served in the chicest of venues - La Bibliotheque, Kingsland Road. This is the perfect place to relax and give the taste buds a treat.
Expect a three tiered stand filled with savoury and sweet bites, created daily by the inhouse team. This is a tapas style of tea - small bites filled with flavours that are unexpected and creative - a fusion of Japanese and Mediterranean delicacies.
Of course there will be a pot of actual tea. Try sipping one of their Japanese varieties - there’s English as well if you want, but really the sweet potato Moshi will be crying out for a cup of green tea - the leaves are steamed right after harvesting which makes a brew that’s not only delicious but very, very good for you.
If you want to exchange your glass of sparkling sake for a glass of champagne no problem - but have you tried sparkling sake? The bubbles are light and fruity, served chilled and selected by the sake master at La Bibliotheque.

I was given this as a Christmas present for my boyfriend and I, so we booked it for early January. We went on a Friday at 2pm and so it was quiet, and that was nice as I'd imagine it would be harder to enjoy if it was packed full of people. The staff were very lovely and attentive, and offered us refills not only for our drinks (champagne and tea) but also for our food (sandwiches, scones and pastries).
